Upcoming road trips

I'm pretty excited to be taking my first few road trips since I've started this blog. In the next 10 days I'll be going to both Detroit (driving) and Raleigh (flying). I won't be able to stop myself from dropping in at Zingerman's Deli as I'm driving by Ann Arbor. Anyone else have any suggestions for these two cities?

I grew up in the metro Detroit area. Daly's Drive-In is a must-stop for me. There used to be a number of the restaurants, but the one that I go to now is in Livonia. The Plymouth Historical Museum had the original sign from the location that used to be in Plymouth, and I had my photo taken with it. I love it that much!

I have to say, Daly's Drive In looks like a total winner.... I've noticed that the coney is very popular up in the Detroit area... not clear on why, but... I support it. I think I may be near Livonia, so I may have to sneak in if I can make it work.....

I get this idea from an episode of Man v Food... but there are two hot dog joints right next to each other in Detroit (each has been around a long while and looked interesting -- and good --to me)

American Coney Island and Lafayette Coney Island

Motown's got Seoul food at Arirang. Unpretentious (in a strip mall) but hearty. It's actually in Ann Arbor, but you won't be disappointed if you can temporarily put aside your allegiances to Boiler Nation and approach with an open mind. Have a safe drive, and remember to keep the windows cracked.

So far, I got in an intersting lunch, but dinner last night (with co-workers) was incredibly drab and boring at a Courtyard by Marriott restaurant.... what a waste of time and calories..... hoping for better thing today on the way home.
